After 20 years building a successful real estate business in Southern California -- specializing in waterfront and view homes from Newport Beach to San Clemente -- I chose to leave the palm trees and traffic behind in search of something different.
I explored the entire Oregon and Washington coastline, including the San Juan Islands and Puget Sound communities. In 1998, I discovered what I consider the perfect balance: Whidbey Island.
Whidbey offers something rare -- a nature sanctuary with forest trails, beaches, and open skies -- yet within just over an hour, you have access to Sea-Tac International Airport, world-class arts, dining, shopping, and cultural events. It truly is the best of both worlds.
